Working for the Community...

Our Mission Statement: To identify and develop youth leadership in Minnesota through the promotion of personal responsibility, volunteerism, and social awareness.

We carry out our mission by:

• Providing interactive opportunities for critical thinking
• Promoting democracy and the free enterprise system
• Encouraging social responsibility among individuals and corporations

We challenge our Delegates to:

• Think for themselves and to become critical thinkers
• Enhance their leadership skills through active involvement in the community
• Practice their knowledge of the American democratic process and free enterprise system

How do we do this?

• MN MILE seeks to identify and develop youth leadership in Minnesota through the promotion of personal responsibility, volunteerism, and social awareness starting with high school sophomores. Students are introduced to MN MILE primarily through a leadership seminar.
The leadership seminar is a three-day intensive program of panel discussions, a community service component/activity and fun
• MN MILE alumni will be challenged to do a number of hours of community service each year.
• MN MILE is a lifelong experience of leadership and service.

  Historical figures:

• 2004 was the first seminar presented under the MN MILE banner.
• TRAIL was founded in 2002 by volunteers who believed strongly in youth leadership and the need to make it available to all students and schools without a fee.
